Our Sales Team is comprised of financial industry veterans. We are registered Investment Advisor Representatives with many years of investment advisory and FIA sales experience.

We are responsible for identifying those individuals that would be a good fit for Horter and our growing family of advisors but equally identifying that we would be a good fit for the Individual and their growing business.

Our knowledge and experience as well as learning the Horter Investment Management, LLC system has given us the ability to provide sound advice to our advisors to build their practice.

Our areas of expertise can be applied in the following areas:

  • Portfolio Analysis – using Brokerage Statements and Tax Returns to confidently provide insight to a client that may not be aware of how bad a portfolio could be
  • Strategy Performance – providing information on the performance of our platform and how to work with our strategies to potentially maximize production and minimize risk
  • Tools and Resources gained from experience on the different avenues of marketing and how to successfully use our Financial Manufacturing Firm System to potentially get 7-10 clients per month
  • How making additions and expanding on what you offer in your practice can build your FIA sales and net proceeds

Jack Peters
Senior Vice President of Advisor Development

Jack is responsible for advisor recruiting and training. Jack’s 29 years in the Financial Services Industry qualifies him in brokerage statement analysis, tax return opportunities and implementing the Horter Investment Management, LLC that is designed to be a low risk, and low volatility1 investment management platform.

Lee Putz
Vice President of Advisor Development
Lee has over 35 years in Sales, Training and Management positions with major Life and Financial Services companies. This includes completing his CLU and Series 6, 63, 65 and 26. Lee will be assisting Jack Peters in advisor recruiting and training including home office and field sales activities with advisors and representatives to support the growth of their individual practices
Scott Roberts
Vice President of Advisor Development
With over 20 years of diverse sales, investment and management experience in the financial services industry, along with having held FINRA licenses 7, 63, 9 and 10, Scott enjoys mentoring our advisors and coaching them on how to enhance and add value to the relationships they have with their clients. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati and degree in Psychology, Scott is sensitive to the needs of the high net worth investor and understands that financial planning can be emotionally challenging at times.
Craig Lipniskis
Vice President of Advisor Development
Craig is an investment advisor representative with Horter Investment Management and has over 15 years of investment and retirement planning in the financial industry. During this time, Craig obtained his Series 7 and 63 licenses and passed his Series 66 exam. Craig is passionate about helping others and is using his industry knowledge to reach out and help advisors build and grow their practice using the Horter platform. Craig graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in Finance.
Michael Funcheon
Vice President of Field Development
Mike began his career in financial services when he joined Shearson American Express in 1983 in Hartford Connecticut. He married a Cincinnati native that same year, and when they decided to start their family, it was natural to migrate back to her home town. In 1989, Mike was promoted to Assistant Branch Manager. In 1990, he was selected to join the Branch Manager Training program. In it, he was trained on coaching and mentoring early-career advisors, as well as how to motivate more seasoned producers.
Jeff Schmidt
Vice President - Investment Advisor Representative
As a financial advisor with 26 years of experience serving clients, Jeff under-stands that no matter how well constructed your financial plan is; “Life Happens.” With a primary focus on a system designed to be “Low Risk, Low Volatility1” wealth planning, Jeff’s goal is to help his clients maximize gains and minimize risk. He demon-strates a passion to educate clients and provide personalized service by delivering financial seminars and a detailed portfolio analysis. Jeff believes that each client is unique and should expect recommendations tailored to meet their overall needs and goals.
Brion Walters
Vice President - Investment Advisor Representative
Brion specializes in retirement and investment planning and has over 12 years of experience advising clients approaching or in retirement. As a Chartered Financial Consultant, the areas in which he specializes include: • Investment Planning • Retirement Distribution • Social Security Maximization • Medicare and Long Term Care Planning His major goal is helping clients minimize risk and maximize gains through a system designed to be “Low Risk, Low Volatility1”. Like each client, each solution is unique, and provides clients with a comprehensive plan that will help them get what’s important to them. Brion is passionate about his clients and helping them make good decisions with their money.
Casey Croysdale
Vice President - Investment Advisor Representative
Casey Croysdale, CFP® has over 13 years of experience on both sides of the financial services industry. After graduating from Miami University of Ohio with a degree in Finance in 2004, he’s held multiple roles at different financial firms. He has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Designation for financial planning. Casey believes in growing long-term relationships through the Horter Investment Management model to best help his clients with their financial needs and goals. While originally being from Ohio, he now resides in Northern Kentucky with his wife Magen, and new puppy, Lennon. He spends his time working with multiple organizations as well as being actively involved in various sports.
Justin McGuffey
Vice President - Investment Advisor Representative
Justin McGuffey is an investment advisor that has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. In 2018, Justin sat for his Series 65 exam and passed. Justin also holds his Life and Health License. Justin has a passion for helping and educating others, which is shown in his ability to relate and develop long-term relationships and the treatment of his clients. Through the Horter Investment Management, LLC approach, Justin is given the opportunity to give educational seminars where he is able to reach out and share experiences on how informative, personalized guidance may lead to a more satisfying investment management strategy. Justin obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Miami University. He currently resides in Cincinnati with his wife, Stephanie, and their young daughter, Isla. In his spare time, Justin enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
Tim Becker
Vice President & Director of Strategic Business Development
Tim supports the strategic business development initiatives of Horter leadership. Tim also is part of the Advisor Field Supervision team responsible for Compliance auditing and also supports the Advisor and Horter employee recruitment function. Tim brings to Horter over 30 years of strategic business, coaching, and mentoring experience. Time has his Series 65 and is now studying for his Life and Health.
